“ I make photographs as a way to document things in my life that are important to me. It is a rare day that I do not take a picture of a bird, a flower, a barn or just something that catches my eye. I am especially fond of ‘rural decay’.
Lately I have been working with textures. I have always liked folk art because it seems to evoke a sense of simplicity and nostalgia. I believe the careful use of textures can inspire some of these qualities in photographs. “ ~ Pamela Schmieder
