Scott Hotaling, an explorer at heart and freelance photographer by trade, particularly enjoys seeking out remote mountain summits under the most difficult weather conditions to capture views that few will ever witness. His work has been internationally published and garnered a wide variety of awards and accolades. Scott’s goal is to shoot scenes of the most beautiful places he can find under the best possible conditions and bring those views to the public. And, by doing so, he strives to remind people how incredible our planet is and how imperative it is we do our individual parts to preserve it for future generations.

In addition to western North Carolina and the Appalachian Range, Scott is an avid traveler and mountaineer. His camera has been to nearly every corner of North America including the summit of Washington State’s Mount Rainier 16 times.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Powerful light and colors in many of the photos.
I also wonder how the first one was taken… Is that mist underneath and around the trees or snow??
