Chris Weeks is a freelance editorial photographer based in LA. His work is regularly published in Vogue, InStyle, Rolling Stone and other domestic and international big magazines. Weeks’ commercial work funds his personal projects, which revolve around shooting "street" all over the world.
Back in 2006 weeks wrote a PDF about Purism and Street Photography called Street Photography for the Purist, and posted it on deviantart.com. He not only featured his own work but many of his street-shooting friends from all over the world.
Street Photography for the Purist is one of the earliest books I’ve read about photography, and personally speaking I was mind-blown!! It’s a great, inspirational, and sincere book. The collaboration of the best street photographers in this project and the showcasing of some of the most amazing street photographs ever taken are just two of many reasons this book became what it is, and that is a street photography "bible" to me personally as I’m sure to thousands if not millions around the world.
Having wrote that it was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to update it. Yes, I could have written something yet I really wanted to do it with video. Until the Canon EOS 5D Mark 2 came about — and with the most recent firmware update — I couldn’t have achieved "the look" I wanted.
Over the course of two months this summer (2009) I enlisted the help of some friends to shoot … I dunno … the next volume or whatever this is.
In this video you’ll see my work and that of photographers Severin Koller, Frank Jackson and Mario Anzuoni, all with different perspectives for shooting street photography. There are too many people to thank; please read the credits at the end of part three. I hope you enjoy it. I know that I had an amazing time shooting and editing it.
I have included all three Street Photography: Documenting the Human Condition videos that Chris posted on his vimeo page for you guys to watch. Those video are absolutely bind spelling, inspirational, and oh so brilliant!! Check it out right below…

Wow, so cute… and well done actually Really Amazing Photos.
I read some of Chris Weeks Street Photography for the Purist and was disappointed that he knocked the SLR Street Photographers, we are not all in a position to afford a Leica..and just because you dont use a Rangefinder doesnt mean you can’t take good Strret Photos..as someone new to Photography I was very disappointed & surprised by this..
