Today’s photo inspiration presents great landscape photographer Robb North from SW Ontario, Canada.
Robb has been drawn to photography at a very young age watching his father compose great shots with his old SLR camera. Now it’s Robb’s turn to create wonders with his own, and he sure does a very good job at that!
Take a look at Robb’s amazing photos below as I am sure you will be inspired and intrigued…
i feel like a real photographer doesn’t rely on post processing to showcase their images.
i did not see one photo that did not have extreme or extensive post processing done to it. whether it be in the form of photoshop actions, textures, brushes, color enhancement etc.
a true photographer doesn’t rely on photoshop, instead they focus on lighting, metering, aperture, skill and raw talent. i could just visit flickr if i wanted to see the photos posted above. these kind are a penny a dozen.
Robb has all the techniques youve listed covered Douglas in addition to a skill in post processing (like a lot others).
ive seen a lot like you who dont like post processing, but i think this is art and art reflects the individual’s own taste not others’.
i appreciate the honest opinion but i would like to ask you to keep a good spirit while expressing yours. we are all one community. we help and encourage each other.
spread the love my friend =)
Hi Douglas:
I’m certainly not claiming to be a “real” or “true” photographer….I’m just a guy with a camera(s) and a free image editing program. If pressed for a true definition of what I do, I would call it ‘art’. Whatever it is, I do it to make me happy…and if someone else likes it as well….cool!
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work,
Robb
Dear Douglas,
I’m a “real” photographer and I just read your post about Robb North’s photos. With all due respect, Robb’s photographic art is what grabs my attention, and it’s the millions of pictures (images, whatever you wanna call ‘em) that people take of random things that I believe are a penny a dozen. Although Mr. North does post-process, what he does with composition is brilliant, and I actually prefer photography like his, that depicts a painterly quality. Too bad you don’t appreciate his work.
really nice collection. i especially love the multi exposure black and white
Robb has some real nice pictures that captured my breath, past and recent with imagination; I agree some did lean on digital ‘post production’ filtre. But the majority of images are clean, clear and crisp images brought to us as ‘clear’ as an auto focus.
Thanks Robb for your images
nice B&W BTW
