Aspiring young photographer Teva C

"My name is Teva, I am 18 years old and come from a small tropical town in Queensland called Cairns. I am currently planning to move overseas and study photography in Sweden mid 2013 and at the same time travel and explore Europe. I love to draw, write and of course take photos. I think my true love lies in analog and instant photography but digital is wonderful and so convenient I find that it has, for the time being, become my main photographic medium. I shoot with a canon 5d II coupled with an 85 1.2 which is my favorite and most used lens. I have also recently decided to expand into the word of medium format buying a Pentax 67 which, however, is still...

Inspiring noir photography by Emiliano Grusovin

"I am an Italian photographer located in the north-east region on the border with Slovenia, I love the night, I’m passionate about cinema. The series Alphaville and Nouvelle Vague are a tribute to noir films, I focused on those dark atmospheres. Film noir is a cinematic subgenre of thriller movie, which had the summit in the United States. Hollywood’s classic film noir period is generally regarded as stretching from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Besides the topic of inquiry and the classic town ambience, the noir movie provides strong contrasts of light between white and black, which symbolically represent the conflict between good and...

Night photography inspiration by William Cho

"I am a freelance graphic designer/photographer from Singapore. I started in photography late. Used to think that it was a boring job, having to shoot family portraits, passport photos, etc. But I guess back then, those were the bread and butter jobs! And so after secondary school I instead decided to become a graphic designer. This career took me to a few places, some of which included Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in the 1980s, New Caledonia, Mauritius, Re-union Island, Cebu in the Philippines, Bali in Indonesia, Phuket in Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Hualien in Taiwan, Kyoto & Kyushu in Japan, and much of Europe. Over all these years, I’ve seen...

Film photography inspiration by Ansel Olson

"I was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up near Southeast DC. My ancestors include a cartographer, a decorator, a master carpenter, and more than a few vikings. I live in Richmond, Virginia with my wonderful wife and our super schnauzer. I work as a designer and a photographer, mostly for architects and interior designers. I initially studied fine art and photography in college, but ended up getting my degrees in interior design and graphic design. After working as a designer for awhile though, I realized how much photography always meant to me, and I gave in to it. Most of my design clients quickly became my photography clients as well. I’m very...

Landscape photography inspiration by Frederick Concha

Landscape photographer Frederick Concha lives in the area of Sintra, Portugal. He has always photographed compulsively to register various parts of his life, his surroundings, people he knows and places he has been to. He has always felt a deep connection with the sea and nature, and in 2011 he started shooting landscapes more often. For Frederick, photography is a continuation of himself and a vice that is impregnated into his skin and soul. But above all, it is emotion, sensitivity, feeling … it is something that makes him think, create worlds and invent stories through images. It is to have the power to stop time and keep it...

Beautiful examples of night photography

"Night photography refers to photographs taken outdoors between dusk and dawn. Night photographers generally have a choice between using artificial light and using a long exposure, exposing the scene for seconds, minutes, and even hours in order to give the film or digital sensor enough time to capture a usable image. With the progress of high-speed films, higher-sensitivity digital image sensors, wide-aperture lenses, and the ever-greater power of urban lights, night photography is increasingly possible using available light." ~ Wikipedia I’ve put together some of the most recent, most Beautiful examples of night photography shots out there ...
